Holograph diary of F.B. Davis, a Union sailor who served on the USS Quaker City. The first dated entry is for Jan. 1, 1863; the last is Dec. 31, 1863. His diary begins at his home in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. In March he became a sailor for the Union Navy and the rest of the diary recounts his service on board.
